Did you know?
A lot of women and birthing parents can feel down, fed up or very worried during pregnancy or within the first year of giving birth. Partners can also develop mental health problems during a woman’s pregnancy and after baby’s arrival.

How can we help?
Talking Therapies provides a range of services for people with low mood, who may be worrying a lot or feeling stressed or have obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. If you live in Kirklees, are 17 years old and over, Talking Therapies can help you better understand your current difficulties and help you develop new ways of coping with these problems.

What can I expect?
You will be offered an initial assessment which will help us determine which services would be suitable for you. The options for support will be discussed, so that you can make an informed choice about your treatment. We can offer flexible telephone, face to face and video sessions at various locations and GP surgeries. We also offer pre-recorded courses, as well as an online therapy called Silvercloud, for even more flexible access to therapy.

Perinatal mental health is important to us and we prioritise parents. This could include main carers, fathers and same sex couples who have a child up to two years old, or who are expecting a new baby. Prioritising means parents are likely to have reduced wating times for assessment and treatment.
